Velocifero (VLF), an Italian EV company, has officially announced its entry into the Indian market. The company has partnered with Kolhapur-based KAW Veloce Motors to bring its innovative electric vehicles to India. The first product to hit the Indian roads will be the Tennis E, an electric scooter that promises to blend style, performance, and affordability.
Who is Velocifero?
Velocifero is the brainchild of Alessandro Tartarini, the son of Leopoldo Tartarini, the founder of the iconic Italjet scooter brand. Alessandro continues his father’s legacy by creating radical and innovative products. VLF’s journey began in 1993, and by 2015, the company had introduced Mad, its first electric vehicle, a unique kick-scooter and scooter hybrid. Today, Velocifero has established its presence in 55 countries, offering a diverse portfolio that includes kick-scooters, ICE and electric scooters, e-motorcycles, e-bikes, and even two-wheelers for kids.
Introducing the VLF Tennis E
The Tennis E is a neo-retro electric scooter from Velocifero, available in two variants: 1.5 kW and 4 kW. With its smooth and clean lines, the scooter embodies a distinctively Italian design. The LED headlight with its DRLs is particularly striking, bearing a resemblance to the beloved Disney character Wall-E.
The scooter features a 1.5 kW or 4 kW motor paired with a 1.4 kWh battery for the lower variant and a 2.8 kWh battery for the top variant. The lower variant boasts a top speed of 60 kph, while the higher-end version can reach up to 100 kph. Riders can choose from Eco, Comfort, and Sport riding modes. Additionally, both variants come equipped with a 5.5-inch TFT display.
Looking Ahead
With Velocifero setting up a manufacturing and distribution hub in India, the Tennis E is expected to be an affordable option for Indian consumers. The company’s serious commitment to the Indian market suggests that the Jump and Mad range of e-motorcycles might soon follow the Tennis E, further expanding VLF’s footprint in the country.
Stay tuned for more updates as Velocifero and KAW Veloce Motors gear up to revolutionize the Indian EV landscape with their innovative offerings.
