Aston Martin is gearing up to make a powerful comeback in the world of endurance racing with their latest hypercar, the Valkyrie AMR-LMH. After initially withdrawing from the World Endurance Championship (WEC) in 2020 due to financial constraints and a change in ownership, the British automaker is back on track for the 2025 season.
A New Beginning for the Valkyrie
Originally slated to join the 2020/21 World Endurance Championship, the Valkyrie project faced delays when Aston Martin encountered financial challenges and underwent ownership changes. However, in October 2023, the company confirmed that their hypercar program would resume, aiming for a spectacular return to the FIA World Endurance Championship and the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in 2025.
The Birth of the Valkyrie AMR-LMH

The FIA homologation for the Valkyrie AMR-LMH is expected this fall, with its competitive debut scheduled for early 2025. The IMSA season will kick off with the Roar Before The Rolex 24 in Daytona Beach from January 17 to 19, followed by the Rolex 24 At Daytona from January 23 to 26. Meanwhile, the WEC will commence with the Prologue and the Qatar 1812 km in February 2025.
Both WEC Hypercar and IMSA LMDh regulations impose a cap on maximum output, with additional Balance of Performance requirements. These rules ensure that the Valkyrie AMR-LMH is competitively balanced with other hypercars, maintaining a thrilling yet fair racing environment.
